Job Title: Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Officer (ASRH Officer)
Location:Â Borno

About The Job
- The project result one focused on Increased access of women and girls to sexual and reproductive information and services.
- This will be supported by training sexual and reproductive health service providers and SRHR community volunteers, providing clean delivery kits for pregnant women and girls, strengthening referral mechanisms, and equipping mobile health facilities with essential medical supplies and equipment.
- This comprehensive package of support, in line with the MISP, is the most effective means of ensuring that equitable access to life-saving reproductive health services genuinely increases.
- Equipping mobile health facilities, along with training the staff who work there ensures that the facilities are in a position to meet the demand for reproductive health services from surrounding communities.
Main Responsibilities
The ASRH officer will be mainly responsible for the following:
- Work closely with the GBV Coordinator to mainstream ASRH into other sectors including WASH.
- Conduct capacity building training for staff on ASRH programming with support from GBV Coordinator.
- Work closely with the health sector, Ministry of Health Borno State, and other health partners to ensure close coordination of activities and best practices.
- Coordinate Project activities in the fight against STI’s in the locations of implementation
- Attend the Health cluster meetings on monthly basis and as needed and takes responsibilities for reporting of all ASRH activities, will also ensure best practices and international standards are met in our services provision.
- Work closely with team members, other sectors-WASH officers to assess ASRH risk/issues and update supervisors, whereas working closely with the GBV Coordinator to address issues identified.
- Conduct ASRH risk mapping and GBV safety audits in project locations closely with other project teams, including GBV officers, WASH officers.
- Provide timely feedback on the ongoing activities to supervisor and work closely to address any issue as identified during implementation.
- Contribute to GBV ASRH strategy development ensuring ASRH component of the program is fully captured.
- Lead the contextualization of ASRH materials developed and other existing materials including training materials and IEC.
- Develop plans for effective implementation for ASRH activities.
- Manage/supervise ASRH support staff and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Nursing, Public Health, or its related field
- 2 – 5 years of working experience
- A and implementing ASRH program in emergencies.
- Strong experience in GBV programming an advantage.
- Strong understanding of gender equality principles
- Strong Knowledge and skills in providing CMR is required.
- Strong experience in supportive monitoring programs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Has excellent planning and well organ
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English and Hausa
- Fluency in Kanuri, mandara will be an added advantage.
- Good experience working in Northeast Nigeria especially knowledge working in Pulka will be an added advantage.
- Experience in implementing gender-transformative approaches to health.
- Flexible and can adapt to prevailing environment.
Skills:
- Good team player: the ability to take direction and work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to interact in a professional way, including community members, clients, and partners.
- The candidate should be able to complete required reporting and documentation within the set deadlines.
- Able to keep and sustain confidentiality.
- Experience working in Northern Borno is highly desirable
- Experience in Kanuri and Hausa language is highly desirable
- A critical thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills.
