We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Associate Manager, Food Security and Nutrition

Locations: Abuja and Kano
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of Position

  • The Associate Manager, Food Security and Nutrition, under the leadership of the Program Manager, will support strengthening of the eHA food security and nutrition program area.
  • S/He will work in close collaboration with project and other cross-functional teams within eHA to design, develop, implement, and oversee strategies and programs aimed at addressing food security issues and promoting improved nutrition across target populations at national and sub-national levels.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of food systems, nutrition science, and public health principles, as well as strong leadership and project management skills.

What You’ll Do

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Provides eHealth Africa Senior Management and Program Management Team with strategic guidance on food security and nutrition.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive food security and nutrition strategies in alignment with organizational strategic goals and objectives.
  • Conduct assessments and research to identify food security gaps and nutrition needs within the community/population served.
  • Design and manage programs and initiatives to improve access to integrated nutrition services , reduce food insecurity, and promote healthy eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to leverage resources and support for food security and nutrition program initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of food security and nutrition interventions, collecting and analyzing data to inform decision-making and program improvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and best practices in food security, nutrition, and public health, and integrate relevant findings into programmatic efforts.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and partnerships related to food security and nutrition advocacy and policy development.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other communications to share program outcomes, achievements, and lessons learned with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Active participation in relevant national and regional technical working groups and other stakeholder meetings
  • May frequently travel between organization work-sites. Some international travel may be required.
  • Adheres to eHealth Africa Code of Conduct, applicable policies & procedures, as well as ethical standards of the field.

Who You Are

  • A Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, Food Systems, or a related field. Relevant professional certification would be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, at least 3 years in a managerial role; NGO experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition programming, food systems, and public health principles, particularly as they relate to addressing malnutrition, food insecurity and promoting healthy eating behaviors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, with a track record of achieving measurable outcomes and impact.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software and tools.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a passion for addressing social determinants of health and advancing health equity.
  • Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) skills and communication (written and verbal) skills, including the ability to prepare and present compelling presentations and program planning and memo documents
  • Strong organizational, analytical, reasoning, and research skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with creative thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects and proactively manage projects with minimal supervision
  • High level of confidentiality and knowledge of research ethics
  • Strong leadership skills, including good problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire confidence in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications with a strong aptitude for succinctly presenting thoughts and ideas to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Action-oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
