Job Title: Communication Officer
Location:Â Lagos Island, Lagos

Job Summary
- As a Communication Officer with over three years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the organization’s internal and external communication efforts.
- You will be responsible for maintaining a positive public image, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across various communication channels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate comprehensive communication plans aligned with organizational goals with Head of the Department
- Assist and collaborate with Head of the Department to define key messages and communication objectives.
- Assist in ensuring consistency and coherence in all internal and external communications.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Draft press releases, statements, and media briefs for public distribution.
- Assist in creating compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, and social media posts.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant communication.
- Assist in editing and reviewing contents to uphold brand standards and messaging consistency.
- Assist in facilitating internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Assist in developing, implementing and circulating employee communication programs, including newsletters, general meetings, and intranet content.
- Assist in fostering a positive and transparent communication culture within the organization.
- Assist in developing crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage communication during challenging situations.
- Assist in conducting post-crisis communication evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor online conversations and respond to inquiries, comments, and mentions.
- Stay updated on digital communication trends and recommend innovative approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication with all stakeholders.
- Perform any other duty assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Certification in NIPR or any other relevant certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a communication role.
- Proven track record of successful communication strategies and media relations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality and discretion.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with communication and project management tools.
- Experience in crisis communication and issues management.
- Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia content creation.
- Certification in public relations or communication is a plus.
