Job Description

Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria was established in 1993 as one of the pioneer Federal Medical Centre in Nigeria. The hospital is located in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State which is about 48km from Akure, the state capital. The hospital serves the neighbouring states such as Kogi, Edo and Osun States.

Since its establishment it has witness tremendous growth in terms of infrastructures and personnel. It is equipped with modern laboratory and radiological diagnostic facilities including a well-equipped molecular laboratory for the diagnosis of infectious diseases like Lassa fever, COVID-19 and cholera. Federal Medical Centre, Owo is a centre of excellence in the management of infectious diseases like Lassa fever and COVID-19 disease.

Job Title: Consultant (Psychiatry)

Location: Owo, Ondo

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS / MBChB) and Part II Final examination Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African College of Surgeon/Physician.
  • He/she must be registered with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Evidence of possession of current practising licence.

Condition of Service

  • As applicable in other Tertiary Health Institutions in Nigeria.
