Job Summary

  • Our client in Nigeria had a partnership with Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF) to implement a nutrition program in Sokoto State. The program is to register & verify 5,400 beneficiaries for the nutrition humanitarian cash programmin 4 LGAs of Sokoto state namely Ilela, Goronyo, Rabah & Tangaza. The partner worked closely with United Bank for Africa (the financial service provider contracted by our client to disburse cash to beneficiaries) to verify the beneficiaries & monitor the cash handover processes inclusive of analysis of end user monitoring.
  • Post program implementation, our client is initiating a verification exercise for the cash transfer program. The Facilitators are to support our clients Sokoto field office for “in person” * remote verification of humanitarian cash transfer prograe’s beneficiaries * activities in Ilela, Goronyo, Rabah & Tangaza. The Facilitators will support with in person verification of 15% of the beneficiaries in 4 LGAs whereas additional 10% beneficiaries will be verified remotely through phone numbers (if available), community leaders etc. Locations are extremely hard to reach areas where our clients personnel cannot be deployed to perform the mentioned verification exercise. Considering that, request for 12 facilitators (3 Facilitator per LGA) is required to be recruited.

Role Objectives
Following guidance from Nutrition Specialist & our clients team, the LGA Facilitators will be responsible for the team’s:

  • Verification & validation of the accuracy & reliability of registered data of beneficiaries.
  • Physical verification of 15% (810) beneficiaries in 4 LGAs confirming receiving of total amounts in 3 installments as per agreed plan.
  • Remote verification & validation of additional 10% (540) beneficiaries confirming receiving of total amounts in 3 installments as per agreed plan.
  • Collect data using data collection tool & transmit same to supervisor on daily basis.
  • Documenting key findings highlighting observed status of activities against intervention plans & recommendations for areas of improvement.
  • Carry out any other task that may be assigned.

Deliverables:

  • Weekly data submission & summary of findings coming from verification exercise & field observations.
  • End of assignment report.
  • List of verified beneficiaries with complete details of verification information.
  • List of non reachable beneficiaries.
  • Key findings of the verification exercise challenges & set of recommendations / area of improvement.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the super

Project Reporting:

  • This role reports to the line manager.

Key Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree in social science, statistics, social & economic public policy, development economics, international development or any other related field.
  • Fluency in English (verbal & written).
  • Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is required.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation & writing skills.
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation & various office applications.
  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible strong professional experience in monitoring & data collection in humanitarian settings.
  • Experience working with governments & UN agencies providing support on monitoring or data collection.
  • Experience in complex humanitarian settings is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with or past experience working with our client & / or other similar UN organizations or development agencies is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to remote regions of the country.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi cultural environment & establish harmonious & effective working relationships.

Team management:

  • This role has no team management responsibility.
