Job Title: Program Officer

Overview
- The Program Officer Stable/Schooled will provide technical support in ensuring the smooth implementation of activities on the aCARES OVC project in Benue State.
- He/She shall help in the design, supervision and the implementation of activities that will ensure household stability and improvement of household economies.
- He/She shall also help in the design, supervision and implementation of activities that will ensure that all children and adolescents between 0-17 receive the age appropriate education and skills necessary for them to grow and become responsible adults. He/She shall perform the following specific duties
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Case Managers to identify and assess the stable and education needs of the vulnerable children.
- Provide technical support to Case Managers in the application of child status index/assessment forms and design of careplan targeting the child’s needs under the stable and schooled domains.
- Provide technical support to the case managers to ensure effective stable and schooled service delivery.
- Guide and provide supportive supervision to Case Managers to guide the selection of beneficiaries and conduct of livelihood activities such as Financial Education, IGA support, Cash transfers, vocational training, VSLA meetings, and communal farms as well as gardening.
- Supervise the attendance of vocational training by beneficiaries and their participation in livelihood activities
- Provide technical support in grouping the selected beneficiaries for livelihood interventions in cohorts in line with National OVC guidelines
- Work closely with the community and other stakeholders in the community during the course of the program.
- Provide technical support to CSOs to ensure proper step down of trainings to Community Case Managers as required.
- Guide the Case Managers in the assessment of the educational and developmental needs of the Vulnerable Children
- Profile all out of school children for possible enrolment/re-enrolment into the required level of education
- Guide/support the Case managers to conduct quarterly education performance assessment for all children in school
- Work with the CQIT to Solicit for school fees waiver, provision of educational materials and implementation of block grant to facilitate the enrolment of VC into school.
- Provide detailed activity and monthly narrative reports on all stable and educational interventions
