Role Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. This full-time, on-site role involves designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of new buildings and bridges, as well as managing alterations and extensions to existing properties.
- The successful candidate will perform structural calculations, conduct analysis, and utilize advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to engineer various projects in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop structurally sound designs that meet all local codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Perform technical calculations and structural analyses to ensure project viability.
- Design structural elements using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or RISA.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Establish design protocols in line with relevant codes and standards.
- Provide expert advice to civil engineers on best practices in design and execution.
- Recommend appropriate construction materials and safety measures.
- Conduct field visits, prepare reports, and assess project viability.
- Oversee project management, including budget tracking and maintaining progress records.
- Review shop drawings and provide constructive feedback to the project team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction and structural engineering.
- Professional engineering certification relevant to the region of employment.
- A strong background in structural and civil engineering principles.
- Proficiency in structural calculations, analysis, and CAD software.
- Solid understanding of construction materials, methodologies, and practices.
- Proven drafting skills, supported by a robust portfolio of past projects.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in construction procedures, field inspections, and report writing.
