Catalyst Path Consulting is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical Operator

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Industry: Mining (Beneficiation Plant)

About the Role

  • We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Operator to join our team at our Beneficiation Plant located in Kaduna.
  • The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant equipment used in the processing of mineral ores.
  • You will work closely with the Plant Supervisors and Engineering teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and control plant machinery and equipment used in the mineral beneficiation process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance on processing equipment (crushers, conveyors, screens, thickeners, pumps, etc.).
  • Ensure the plant runs efficiently with minimal downtime and optimal output quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or process faults and escalate where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, production logs, and equipment performance.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians during shutdowns, repairs, or system upgrades.
  • Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure processing standards are met.

Requirements

  • OND/HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a plant or technical operator in a mining or mineral processing environment.
  • Solid understanding of mineral beneficiation processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, process flows, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and readiness to work in an industrial/mining environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with automation and control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ISO, HSE practices, and mining regulations.
